About Layer'd​

Hi, I'm Jen - baker, mum of three, and founder of Layer'd.

​​

Layer'd began with a love of food and a deep belief in feeding my family well - even when it comes to sweet treats. I've always wanted cake to feel like real food: full of flavour, made with proper ingredients and baked with care.

​

What started with flapjacks in my home kitchen has grown into an artisan baking business. Layer'd produces indulgent traybakes, brownies and cakes for independents, and postal boxes so you can enjoy delicious handmade coffee shop treats at home. 

Built from real life coffee shop experience

Before founding Layer'd I spent several years owning and running an independent coffee shop in Leeds.  That experience still shapes how Layer'd works today - from portion sizes and shelf life to pricing, delivery process and consistency.

We understand the realities of running an independent food business because we've lived them.  Layer'd exists to support cafes and delis who need exceptional cake delivered - without the time, labour or stress of baking in-house.

​It all began with a flapjack

Established in 2020, Layer'd was created from a deep love of food, a passion for baking and the magic of a really good flapjack.

 Layer'd is based in the village of Darley - surrounded by fields, fresh air and cake tins.

Our baking

 At Layer'd we bake seasonally, from scratch,  using the best ingredients.

We bake exclusively with Wildfarmed regenerative flour,  free range eggs, real butter, couverture chocolate - chosen for flavour, texture and consistency.

Every bake is layered with flavour, texture and care. Our bakes are produced weekly in controlled batches, ensuring consistency across every delivery.
